Designed for production and stimulation operations, including testing, injection, zone isolation, pumping, etc., the SK-1 Bridge Plug incorporates features of plugs mechanically set and locked for no movement with an independently operated integral equalizing valve. During run-in, well fluid can bypass behind the packing elements while the bridge plug is prevented from setting by control lugs. After setting, accomplished with minimal tubing manipulation, the plug is locked and sealed in the set position and prevented from movement, up or down, with fully enclosed bi-directional slip segments. The tubing can then be released from the tool.
After setting, the equalizing valve can be operated freely without disturbing the set of the bridge plug. Differential pressure, from above or below, can therefore be equalized before initiating release. The valve can also be reclosed for additional pressure work. When set, and with the equalizing valve closed and locked, the SK-1 Bridge Plug will solidly resist mechanical or hydraulic forces from above or below. After releasing, the plug is returned to the run-in position, allowing relocation without lulling from the well.
The SK-I Bridge Plug is available in standard casing sizes from 3-1/2" through 8-5/8", and is run-in and retrieved using Kline Tool Company's PPOF Tool.
