The Arrowset II is a double grip packer, which meets a variety of treating and production requirements. Mechanically operated upper slips eliminate the need for a hydraulic hold-down assembly. Full opening design allows unrestricted fluid flow and tool movement through tubing. A pressure balanced by-pass valve, which is held open when running and retrieving, prevents swabbing effect. The valve also allows debris to be washed from the top slips when releasing. The by-pass valve is held closed by pressure from below and in turn helps prevent upward movement of tubing.
The Arrowset II also features a patented upper slip releasing system that reduces the strain required to release the slips by dislocating a key non-directional slip first, which automatically releases the other slips.
The Arrowset II is available for right or left-hand operation, and with an automatic or manual jay.
Applications:
Effectively meets several requirements for zone isolation, injection, pumping and production. Full opening gives unrestricted flow and allows the passage of wireline tools and other accessories.
Features:
- Operation simplicity, 1/4 turn right to set and straight pull release
- Slip design to distribute even load force over casing I. D.
- Patented slip releasing system
- Open "J" System to eliminate debris build-up
- By-pass location allows debris to be cleaned from upper slips
- Compensating piston holds by-pass valve closed
- Economical mechanical hold down eliminating hydraulic buttons
- Available in H2S trim or specialized material
- Available with specialized elements and seals
Operation:
Setting -Run the tool to setting depth, pick-up tubing and rotate to the right 1/4 turn at the packer. Tubing weight is applied, which sets the lower slips, closes the by-pass valve, and expands the packing elements. The upper slips automatically set in the same operation.
Releasing -Raise the tubing, which first opens the balanced by-pass valve, then releases the slips and packing elements. The tool can now be moved and reset, or pulled from the well.
