The AD-1 Tension Packer is an economical, retrievable, tension set packer designed to hold high pressure from below. It is for use in applications where a set down packer is not suitable. Although the AD-1 Tension Packer is used primarily as a waterflood packer, this packer can be used for other pressurizing applications such as low fluid level or shallow acidizing or fracturing.
The ADL-1 Tension Packer is a large bore version of the AD-1. The ADL-1 has the same field proven design and features as the AD-1 but offers a large packer bore that allows wireline tools to pass through and higher injection rates.
Features:
- Compact size
- Proven slip design has been used in thousands of wells
- Packer bore larger than tubing drift diameter
- Larger packer bore allows all wireline type tools to pass through packer bore and for higher injection rates
- J-Latch control for trouble free setting end retrieving
- Shear or right hand emergency release for difficult retrievals
Operation:
- Run in the well to the desired setting depth.(the lost movement must be downward)
- Rotate the tubing 1/4 turn to the left at the tool.
- Pick-up a maximum of 5000 lbs. to obtain pack off.
- To release, lower the tubing 1 ft. more than is necessary to relieve the tension, rotate the tubing to the right 1/4 turn at tool.
